OSRS Managing Miscellania Guide

osrs managing miscellania

Managing Miscellania is a unique feature in Old School RuneScape (OSRS) that allows players to establish their kingdom on the island of Miscellania. This kingdom generates resources and profits over time, making it a valuable aspect of your OSRS journey. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps to efficiently manage Miscellania, ensuring that your kingdom thrives.

Unlocking Miscellania

Before you can begin managing your kingdom, you must complete the “Throne of Miscellania” quest. This quest takes you through the process of helping Prince Brand and Princess Astrid to secure their rule over the island. Once you’ve completed the quest, you’ll gain access to the kingdom and its resources.

Initial Setup

After completing the quest, speak to Advisor Ghrim in the castle. He will guide you through the initial setup process. During this setup, you’ll determine how your subjects allocate their resources. There are two key resources: workers and funds.

Workers gather resources such as herbs, ores, logs, and fish. Assign workers based on your preferred resources. For example, if you need herbs for Herblore training, allocate more workers to herbs.

The funds you allocate determine the overall productivity of your kingdom. The more money you invest, the better the kingdom performs. Initially, you should invest as much money as you can afford, as this directly impacts the number of resources you receive.

Managing Your Kingdom

Once you’ve set up your kingdom, it’s time to manage it effectively. Follow these steps to ensure your kingdom runs smoothly:

  1. Regularly Check Your Kingdom: It’s crucial to visit your kingdom regularly to maintain its efficiency. Your subjects will work for seven days before requiring your attention.
  2. Maintain High Approval Rating: Your approval rating affects the productivity of your kingdom. To keep it high, talk to Advisor Ghrim and address any issues in the kingdom, such as discontent workers. Distribute items like coal or maple logs to keep your workers happy.
  3. Collect Resources: Your subjects will gather resources based on your allocations. Speak to the Worker in the northeast building to collect these resources, which will be deposited into your kingdom’s coffers.
  4. Reallocate Resources: Depending on your needs, you may want to adjust your resource allocations periodically. For example, if you’ve collected enough herbs, you can allocate more workers to gather ores or fish.
  5. Maintain Funds: Keep a close eye on your kingdom’s coffers. Ensure that there’s enough money to sustain your chosen allocation. If funds run low, your subjects’ productivity will decrease.
  6. Invest Wisely: As you progress in the game and accumulate more wealth, consider increasing your investment in the kingdom. The more you invest, the better the returns.
