OSRS Mogres Guide

osrs mogres guide

Mogres, a portmanteau of “mudskippers” and “ogres,” are a unique species of amphibious monsters that dwell near the coastlines of Gielinor. Resembling grotesque fish-human hybrids, they sport a distinctive appearance with their bluish-green skin, bulging eyes, and a pair of flippers. Mogres are known for their curious behavior, which combines elements of both aquatic and terrestrial creatures.

Mogre Gear Setup

  • Armor: Mogres have low combat stats, so you can wear any gear you prefer. It’s best to focus on equipment that boosts your Melee attack and Defense stats.
  • Weapon: Use a Melee weapon like a sword or scimitar.
  • Food: Bring some food for healing, such as lobsters or sharks.

Requirements:

Completion of the miniquest “Skippy and the Mogres”

Killing Mogres:

  1. Accessing Mogres: To reach Mudskipper Point, go to the Port Sarim docks and board a ship to Port Sarim. From there, head south and cross a bridge to reach Mudskipper Point. Once there, you’ll need to talk to Skippy to start the “Skippy and the Mogres” miniquest. Follow the miniquest’s steps to access Mogres.
  2. Fighting Mogres: Mogres are low-level creatures, so they are easy to defeat. Simply attack them with your Melee weapon and continue fighting until they are defeated.
  3. Looting Mogres: Mogres drop several items that can be collected and used or sold. These include bones, limpwurt roots, seaweed, and swamp paste. Swamp paste can be used as ammunition for the Ogre bow and Ogre composite bow.
  4. Mudskipper Hat: You can also obtain a Mudskipper Hat during the miniquest, which is a cosmetic item and part of the completion requirements.

Mogre Drops:

Mogres drop various items, including:

  • Bones
  • Limpwurt roots
  • Seaweed
  • Swamp paste

Additional Tips:

  • You may want to bring an Amulet of Glory to quickly teleport to Draynor Village, which is relatively close to Mudskipper Point for quick banking and resupplying.
  • If you’re looking for combat experience or drops, Mogres are not particularly efficient in terms of experience or valuable items. They are more of a novelty creature tied to a miniquest.

Mogres are primarily encountered for the completion of the “Skippy and the Mogres” miniquest and for the fun of battling these unique creatures. If you need combat experience or valuable drops, there are better creatures to target in OSRS.
